March 17, 2018 at 9:02 pm | Posted in News/Rumors, Wonderboys | 1 CommentGood news may be in store for fans of popular South Korean boy band Super Junior – the 13 of them may reunite on stage soon.
Koreaboo reported today that its members Leeteuk, Eunhyuk and Donghae recently told the press that it was highly possible that they would “be back together” in a special reunion.
Currently, there are six active members of Super Junior, out of 11 members. The six are Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk and Donghae and they will be releasing an album, Play, next month.
Leeteuk said the last time they performed as an 11-member group was at a Chinese restaurant, just before his army enlistment in 2012.
“Since Kyuhyun has just begun military service, the next time 11 of us can be together would be next year, when he is discharged,” said Leeteuk.
He was also optimistic that all 13 original members would be able to reunite since they are “more family than family”.
“I recently watched the reunion of our fellow boy band HOT on the reality show Infinity Challenge, and that took place in February. It was great, and right next to my television was a picture of the 13 of us.
“I looked at both the HOT reunion and the picture, and I thought of us performing Sorry Sorry, our 2009 hit song together again. I do believe someday we’ll all be back!”
Hangeng and Kibum left the group for personal reasons in 2009 and 2015 respectively, but they still keep in touch with the other members.
Super Junior was formed in 2005 and debuted with 12 members – Leeteuk, Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kibum. Kyuhyun joined the group in 2006.
