Japanese drama series “Summer Snow” will be getting its own musical adaptation. The musical in itself will be a Korean production starring a variety of Korean pop stars in its roles.
The original drama was broadcasted in 2000 and received no less than five awards at the 24th Television Drama Academy Awards. It tells the story of youth’s growth, focusing on a love story between a guy, Natsuo, who was forced to grow up too fast, and a woman, Yuki, with restrictions. When the man’s parents die, he becomes the head of his family while trying to look after his siblings. Yuki is the only one he trusts.

For the Korean production a triple cast concept will be used. Super Junior’s Sungmin, Supernova’s Sungje and FT Island’s Seunghyun will be sharing the lead character Natsuo, who was renamed Jinha in Korean. Other cast members include SS501’s Heo Youngsaeng, and U-KISS’s Kevin and Soohyun.

The musical performances will be held from April 12th to 19 at the Amashin Archaic Hall in Hyogo, and from May 31st until June 15th at the Akasaka ACT Theater in Tokyo.
