120514 Super Junior’s “Opera” tops Oricon Daily Chart and sells over 150,000 copies

Super Junior has topped Japan’s Oricon Daily Singles Chart! After placing #3 on the chart immediately after the release, they have continued their streak and have topped the charts!
The boys released their latest single, “Opera“, on May 9th, and ranked in the top 3 on the Oricon daily chart for five days straight. After reaching as high as second, “Opera” finally topped the chart on May 13th by selling 36,297 copies. Breakdown of the daily sales: day 1 sold 54,331 copies, day 2 sold 15,608 copies, day 3 sold 6,320, day 4 sold 4,036 copies, day 5 sold 39,367 copies and day 6 sold 36,227 copies. Altogether, “Opera” sold a total of 155,603 copies.
Super Junior also performed in front of more than 100,000 people at the Tokyo Dome for their ‘Super Show 4‘ world tour on May 12th and 13th.

120501 Super Junior breaks new record in Taiwan’s album charts

Earlier today, it was reported that Super Junior set a new record in Taiwan after their album topped local music charts for weeks.
SM Entertainment revealed that Super Junior’s fifth studio album “Mr. Simple” along with their fourth record “BONAMANA” spent a combined 100 week stay on Taiwain’s music site KKBOX’s album charts. “Mr. Simple” ranked first for 37 weeks straight while “BONAMANA” stayed on top for 63 weeks.
When asked about their new record in Taiwan, Super Junior stated, “We are honored and extremely grateful to hear that our albums have held onto the top spot for 100 weeks. It is an unbelievable feat for us and we thank all our fans.”
Super Junior is currently busy with their ongoing world tour “Super Show 4″, which is set to visit Japan on May 12th and 13th and will wrap up with an encore concert in South Korea on May 27th and 27th.

120421 Eunhyuk thanks fans for Super Junior’s 5th album, “Mr. Simple,” reaching 500,000 copies sold
On April 21st, Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk tweeted, “I know it’s a little late but thank you. When I first heard that we hit the 500,000 sales mark, it seemed unreal but it feels great and gives me pride. I thank everyone who bought the album. With this strength, we will prepare the 6th album well,” and thanked all the ELF out there.
Eunhyuk also added, “And thank you ‘Eunhyukdotcom’ for the celebratory cake. I will leave a comment soon” and shared the two above photos.
Eunhyuk and Leeteuk are seen holding up the cake and smiling for the camera, probably right before digging into the cake.
After seeing Eunhyuk’s tweets and pictures, netizens commented, “Congratulations on the 500,000 sales“, “Hope to hear more songs soon“, and “I wish you guys daebak on the 6th album!”
As reported earlier, Super Junior recently hit the 500,000 sales mark for their album ‘Mr.Simple’.

As allkpop reported earlier, Super Junior added another record on their list of accomplishments by hitting the 500,000 mark for sales of their 5th album, ‘Mr. Simple‘. As fans around the world congratulated the group on the achievement, member Donghae joined in on the celebrations as well.
On April 13th, he uploaded the above photo on his Twitter account with a caption that read, “Golden Disk kiss! 500,000 copies celebration! From Japan to Shanghai, it’s Lee Donghae!”
In the photo, Donghae is seen happily kissing the prestigious Golden Disk. Fans posted comments such as, “This simple kiss looks like something out of a magazine,” “I am jealous of the Golden Disk,” and “Congratulations on 500,000 copies!”
The April 12th release of the Gaon Album Chart indicated that Super Junior’s ‘Mr.Simple’ album sold a cumulative 502,830 copies since its release last August 3rd.

Super Junior‘s 5th album ‘Mr. Simple‘ has set a record for selling over 500,000 copies.
According to Gaon on April 13th, ‘Mr. Simple’, which was released August 3rd, 2011, sold about 502,830 copies by the end of March 2012, which proves Super Junior’s immense popularity.
Super Junior’s half-million record sales have only been achieved by 2 other artists, namely Kim Gun Moin 2003 with his 8th album ‘Hestory‘, and TVXQ in 2008 with their 4th album ‘MIROTIC‘. As soon as ‘Mr. Simple’ was released, it not only dominated the music charts in Korea, but also in Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, and other countries. Super Junior also set a record in Taiwan for their track “Bonamana“, which held the #1 position on KKBOX’s chart for 63 weeks straight. “Mr. Simple” is following in its footsteps by holding the #1 spot for 34 weeks straight now.
Super Junior, who is currently on their world tour, have already toured Asia 3 times before, uniting over 500,000 fans and evidencing their popularity not only through their album sales, but also through their concert ticket sales. On the 6th, they performed in Paris, France, which made them the first Korean group to hold a solo concert in France. After successfully completing their concert in Paris, Super Junior is continuing on their world tour to perform in Shanghai, China on the 14th, and in Jakarta, Indonesia, on the 28-29th.
