121209 Interview with Choi Siwon

Group Super Junior’s visual representative Choi Siwon (25) jumped in the celebrity world as an actor before a singer. He debuted in 2005 drama < 18, 29> so this year is his 7th year since he started acting. He’s been meeting the public with many works before but finally this year, his acting has been given attention. In mon/tues SBS drama < Lord of the Dramas >, He is playing the role of Kang Hyeon Min, a top star actor who is self-centric and a bit lacking in brain. He is showing very comical acting and adding flavor to the role.

If the drama exposes the process it takes to make a drama, Kang Hyeon Min character exposes the arrogant and two-faced qualities of some top stars.

-What do you think about Kang HyeonMin?

“Anyone can have the greed and mind like him. Love money and think about only themselves.. anyone can have those qualities. But I think the difference is in the ability to control yourself and humble yourself. In that side, Kang Hyeon Min is more of a pure and innocent character who doesn’t know how to control it yet.

-Some say Kang Hyeon Min exposes the image marketing of stars

“Our job is to stand in front of the public. There may be differences but our job depends on our image so I believe many will have two sides. I probably do too, just a different gap than Hyeon Min. Going back and forth between his gaps is how I show Kang Hyeon Min.”
