111126 Nominees announced for the ’26th Golden Disk Awards’

The Golden Disk Awards (better known as the Korean equivalent of the Grammys) will soon be entering its 26th year, and organizers have just announced its list of nominees.
Separated into ‘Digital’ and ‘Album’ awards, the Golden Disk is known for selecting winners based on sales figures over the year. For this year’s nominees, the committee considered albums released from January 1st, 2011 to November 30th, 2011.
The 26th Golden Disk Awards will be held in Osaka, Japan on January 11th and 12, 2012 at the Kyocera Dome.

Mr. Simple sold much better than bonamana in terms of digital sales, but still way way behind those norminees on the list … normally SM boybands don’t do well digitally, but don’t know why?

I agree. Completely unfair. Cassies are worried SM cheated them out of the nomination…which would be worrisome for SJ as well given past history with the GDAs

Big Bang could only qualify for Digital Album Award though, they only released a Mini-Album, only full album could qualify for GDA album award. Hope I made it clear. TVXQ, JYJ should have been nominated though.

agree with tvxq. big bang couldnt be nominated for daesung because they released an ep not an album. it was obvious jyj wouldnt be nominated. would gda risk not having a bunch of artists show up or just one? its stupid and one day jyj will take over sm….when super junior did NOT release an album that year. so during the hiatus.

JYJ I can understand, they’re mostly blocked within the industry. I’m not sure with the case for Big Bang but they seem not to be a favorite with the GDA, I was surprised they haven’t won a Daesang yet but anyway, they usually don’t attend this event from what i’ve seen.
But DBSK??? I was really shocked with this one.

seeing this makes me doubt the crdibility of gda i mean the highest selling albums r not nominated so how do we expect a fair judgment from them esp. after the unfairness towards suju last year im gonna say i don’t expect much form this “biggest award ” i’m just gonna do what ever it takes for sj to win coz sj deserve it but i’m gonna cross my fingers that no cheating goes on ><

for the album awards, big bang is definitely not nominated because theirs is just a mini album. in order to be nominated for disk daesang one must have a full length album..
i just wonder why tvxq and jyj were not included though..
does this mean that SJ have high chances of winning the Disk daesang?

it’s weird to see no BB and DBSK…i hope suju will win in the categories they are nominated…
coz, in the category they are nominated there is also evaluation from the judges, so not 100% based on album sales…but for digital singles award no rating from judges..it’s just weird…i hope that’s will not be the reason why suju will not get the daesang…because of judges evaluation…
i want it to be fair!!!

and it also doesn’t make sense to me that GDA is going to be held in Japan. I thought it’s the biggest award (equivalent to Grammy’s) in Korea? why would they hold such an event in a foreign country rather than in their own country?

Do you seriously want SJ to win, with all those controversies? People are now saying its unfair, like “SM wanted SUJU to win, so SM did not submit a nomination for DBSK, SNSD would not attend on the Jan 11, so the award will go directly to SUJU” things like that. Rumors are like flying all over the place. I believe they can win, with competitors like DBSK,JYJ,BB,SNSD etc. ELF want the boys to win with honour, and prove that they can compete with others, unlike what some people from other fandoms are saying.

If I’m not wrong, the first day(which SuJu is attending) is for the album awards (Eg disk bonsang,disk daesang). The second day is for the digital awards(Eg digital bonsang,digital daesang)

2. If Suju looses I want an smaller lable group to win (I don't care who). Besides that I'd hope that BEG is winning one of those awards …their comeback was really welldone.

if you know what happened last GDA, you would know why JYJ and TVXQ and Big Bang aren’t on the list
in my opinion, GDA is not that accurate because SJ should have won last year’s GDA. I’m not saying that because i’m an ELF and i have nothing against SNSD but still, we all know that SJ would win. Even Teukie himself and SNSD themselves knew that SJ will win but that’s showbiz. They are unpredictable.

SJ Fighting! I hope our oppas will win again! I hope there would be no cheating. They deserve to win because they are so hardworking and i think everybody knows what they are going through at SMEnt. I hope that they can show SMEnt that they are the one who is making 95% of their sales. But even if SJ didn’t win, they are still winners for me because they are the full package in a group and they have ELF and ELF is still the biggest and the best fanbase in the world. Dbsk released there album 1/5 and the award will be held on 1/11 so it passed a year already and can’t be counted (MAYBE)

I heard that Lee Soo Man is one of the adjudicators but I feel Suju in bad position … as ELF I hope United ELF will have project for The Real Golden Disk Award for Suju not only China ELF but World ELF so GDA have to know that K-Pop lover specially ELF reject unfair award

I’m a CassieELF so I’m still pissed off at the nominees list. I’m happy to know that others think that this is unfair to TVXQ (JYJ) and BIG BANG. It hurts that TVXQ is going to be in Japan around that time, but the GDA didn’t invite them. TVXQ5 and BoA are the ones who got the people in Japan interested in K-pop. Anyway I’ll be cheering on Super Junior.

well just my belief, but i don’t think that you necessarily have to ‘tie’ yourself to a single group – a lot of elf (including me) are also fans of other groups as well and it is an award in which it’s very important to look at the other nominees. so the fact that those 3 groups aren’t listed just strengthens the idea that we’ve had since last year that GDA is really not that… legit anymore. it’s still prestigious and i still want suju to win because it means so much to them, but in terms of fairness and actual credibility, i’m really not feeling it’s so….

Those groups were not nominated cause either the judges didn’t think they deserve it or that they’re not attending cause they know they won’t win or they have other schedules. SJ have the highest album sales why are you all worrying about legit and what not?? Even if the other groups were nominated, it is highly unlikely they’d win cause SJ have the highest sales and no one is near them!
So you all are saying SJ just won GDA in 2009 only cuz BB and TVXQ weren’t promoting then? Wow…what have ELF become. Also I’m an ELF only, I listen to other artists’ songs but that doesn’t mean I have to be their fan and follow everything they do. Plus I don’t like bb cuz of gd’s incident.

To be quite honest, I always thought that DBSK will be SuJu’s biggest rival for the disk daesang award. And now that they’re not even nominated, I don’t know what to feel. Not belittling the other nominees but no one came close to SuJu’s album sales other than DBSK/JYJ. SNSD has also impressive sales but they stand more to lose if they actually win. If SuJu wins, it will feel like a hollow victory for me ;_;
And people, don’t be surprised with JYJ, it was kinda expected they won’t be nominated. So unfair I know but you know how most of the music industry is ganging up on them. >.<
Anyway, we've already come this far. Let's just keep it up and help our boys win. After all, they (and we) worked hard for this and no one can say they don't deserve it if they win.

if this is how GDA is, then honestly, suju should win. bias and musical quality aside, they have the best figures and numbers in their favour to win out of all the groups listed . for GDA not to let them just throws away every last bit of credibility they have, not to mention having three major fandoms (cassies, vips and elf) after their blood

GDA is Korea’s Grammy? GDA has only three categories? weh! not even close to be an AMA… maybe GDA is Grammy’s equivalent when it comes to “politicking”…
Award giving bodies should be independent. they shouldn’t be under the scrutiny of some companies dictating on who will be nominated and whose not…
I am happy though that SuJu got nominated but seeing the top idols not in the list that gave SJ a tough competition… Winning an award against fiercest competitors gave sense of fulfillment and great happiness to the core..
Wonder if SJ are even happy with the list of nominees.. Since Teukie dislike the fact that there’s a fee in every vote…

we should have our great artists celebrating of getting awards in our homeland rather than our country, for me as Korean I feel so weird and I am so sad because of that
