Frankly I myself, am really happy.. in the sense of the success we’ve had with the 5th jib ~~!
Based on GAON super junior sold 200,193 4th Jibs BONAMANA, whereas this year the 5th jib has sold 318,669.. Outstanding or what?! & the years not even over !! (lol I haven’t bought Repackaged & Version B of Mr. Simple yet xD) ..

Why will they count Hoot? That is totally unfair. This is 2011 GDA and Hoot was released in 2010. Even if it is in the latter part of 2010, it is still 2010.

I am really worried that GDA will count other albums with the basic album of this year as SNSD, tvxq or JYJ….I hope i am wrong! GDA will only count 5th album without SS3 DVDs OR SS3 3D DVDs if they count them …surely SUJU WILL BE NO.1 WITHOUT THINKING!! ^_^

It would be absolutely wonderful if SuJu won GDA this year! And I’m super happy that ELFs are doing so much for Super Junior! (Hwaiting!) But I just want to warn ELFs that even if (I stress IF) they don’t win, we should still stay ELFs together. There should never be a fallout of SuJu fans. Thats the gaon chart, not hanteo. Gaon doesnt count the actual album sales. They will only tell the album sales next year

there are actually talks about the 350K “sold” by JYJ. i’ve read forums saying that it’s just the total amount of albums distributed but not yet “sold” and this are from cassies themselves.

I think some of you guys are too worried. Hoot is just a mini album, it probably wouldn’t qualify for GDA. About JYJ selling 350k albums, I don’t think they actually sold that much. Firstly, the information was released by C-JES, JYJ’s company, not actually from Gaon Officials. We have to wait for Gaon Chart to release their monthly chart. Futhermore, the figures on Gaon Chart are like the number of albums provided to CD stores, not all albums are sold. Stores can still refund the albums if left unsold.

Please buy 5jib, if you haven’t got it. IMO, it is one of the best album ever. I’ve bought ver ABC. If you only can afford one, probably ver A or ACHA. Ver A for the album cover, ACHA for the songs. ELFs fighting!

We wanna Disk Daesang, not Digital Disk Daesang, because it’s somehow immposible to SJ abd ELFs win Digital awards. Mr.Simple have only desent sales and A-cha low. But, if you do not wanna help with buying physical album, then only place where you can buy songs it’s Soribada and Mnet. America. Other pleases now banned form non-Korean.

For SJ and ELF, it’s either we win or lose. It doesn’t make a difference if JYJ or SNSD or TVXQ win over us.

…. even though I want the boys to win I am actually fine with not winning. This might sound strange… but album sales are alright, Suju has an stable status for being cast/MCing, they have growing populartiy in foreign countries etc… those things are more important… even if they lose in the GDA…. it actually doesn’t matter that much.
For me it makes a differnce who wins over us, simply because JYJ is with a smaller lable, so if they win I’d be happier than if an SM’s artist wins (as SM is SUCH a big lable)… I do root for Suju as I like them for who they are, not for any other reason (not their music, not their lable). And I do think a stable fanbase is more important than winning as much awards as possible. Actually I read below that you said something about “not to worry about fairness”…but actually: is it fair to purposly buy albums to make your favourite band win? Thinking about it, I am not too sure about the answer and the more I think about it the more I get torn over it. Yes. The music market works like that, sure, but that doesn’t mean it’s right and fair. Take note that on this matter I do not only speak of ELF, but any fandom buying albums to raise the sales and the chances of their band winning awards or recognition.

I was still new to SJ in 2009/2010 and even then all I knew abt was their songs and that the boys were really hot lol ^^ not the kpop industry or the awards. so I guess i was lucky to miss out of the direct heartache of the GDAs. It’s not even SNSD’s fault, it’s the management of SM and GDA. I don’t really see any use in blameing SNSD. I do not like them, but in this case I rather think SNSD was just involved as an chessman as well…
As for the disbanding rumor: I don’t think they are going to disband Suju if they don’t win the GDA. The album sales are good enough, they still make money for SM and they hold a lot of MC etc. positions, as well as their rising status on the world music market. No need to disband a band that still makes money… It would be a crazy decision. SM’s best quality is their money management. Cutting off Suju would be a dumb decision just considering the money.

i so agree with this. SJ leads the way for SM to go global with little effort from SM really. less cost, big returns. they brought SM Town to Paris with all their major groups but it’s only SJ who is rumored to go on a full concert there for SS4.

It just means that GDA is not the most important thing. Even if they don’t win the award, ELFs will still support them. But now, everyone is so concerned about the GDA that they neglect everything else. They keep complaining about SM’s mistreatment to SJ bla bla. ELFS should know that not everything is about the GDA, but about the memories we have created within these 2 months with Super Junior. And knowing the reason why we support Suju is not to win the GDA but because we love them for who they are
nevertheless, winning the GDA is still important…

You’re right but I dont think some ELFs are actually like what you said. Do you often go to Mr. Simple mv? I go there almost everyday and I chat with almost every ELF. And i dont think all of them knows the real reason to why we want to win the GDA, which is because we love Super Junior and we want to make them happy. They think that winning the GDA is a way to show SM that Suju is more worthy than the girls, and that they should be treated fairly. All they do everyday is complain, compain and complain. I swear, I get sick of them complaining about SM everyday. yes, everyday…

I actually do not mind the fact that elfs want GDA so badly because they want to prove sm wrong. To a certain extent, we really would be able to prove sm wrong if we get the gda again. We would be able to show that elfs are strong and sj is the best group. But, my personal reason for wanting the GDA so badly this time, is because I really really don’t wish to see the boys so upset again like last year. It pains me to see them cry. Another thing is, this award is what teukie and chulie wants, I want to grant their wish, especially when it’s their last year and they really gave mr. Simple their best. They deserve a lot of recognition for that. I love the happiness exhibited in 2009, and even though I viewed the 2009 gda clip in the beginning of 2010 when i really was an elf, I still felt the happiness a lot. I’m sure all elf want that to happen again. Proving sm wrong, just serves as a small motivation. Since it can unite elfs, and motivate them to help sj further, I don’t think it is much of a harm. Just let some of them continue that thought. So long as they don’t start bashing and start a fan war, I really have no problems with that thinking((: just my opinion though((:

Please ELF stay calm. We all want suju to win this year, but if they don’t it isn’t that bad, they know how much ELF love them.
And just a reminder, in a competition you can know who your competitors are but while racing you will not stare or turn around to see if he’s near behind you, you just keep running. So let’s keep running without worrying about the rest, let’s do our best until the end and be satisfied with the good performance we did.

I just have something to say. JYJ’s new album is selling like crazy and pretty soon they will outsell Super Junior. The possibility of JYJ actually winning the GDA is pretty freaking small because of their ban and everything. HOWEVER I do not want Suju to win just because JYJ wasn’t allowed to win, it would be like last year all over again except this time it’s Super Junior not SNSD. It’s not fair and I sure as hell wouldn’t be happy over their win. So I urge all E.L.F’s with money to please buy the albums. Let’s give Suju one last win before they go on their hiatus.

well actually if you trace our sales on a daily basis and also their sales, we were selling crazily too. i don’t think by the end of the year, they will sell more than us though their fans spread tons of rumors about their “sales”.
If JYJ wins, good for them. And don’t worry about fairness, we are not SNSD, nobody has a bias on us. We don’t sell more than JYJ, we won’t win.
I respect all those hard working artists. But this year we gotta win.

Before talk about “they soon out sell SJ and now everybody will point for us” JYJ in the place should out sell SJ on Hanteo (Gaon, give his Album King award only after GDA), because for me Hanteo more leggit and JYJ do not even out sell BigBang. 2nd, if JYJ banned, it’s not our fault. It’s like when VIPs in the 2009 about how GD should be this one, who must get GDA. But, he not even nominated ( yeah, he win Album King, but SJ win Artist of the Year on Hanteo) It’s fully JYJ’s agency fault, that they so much weak. So, first, to say something about like you said 1st. Out sell SJ. 2nd. Be nominated.

I think you misunderstood what I was talking about. The power of JYJ should not be underestimated, regardless of how weak their agency might be or not. Look at how much they’ve already sold without promoting their album, it’s incredible.
What I was trying to say is that it is our JOBS as E.L.Fs to make sure that they DON’T outsell us because there is a very good chance that they might. I don’t want a false win just because SM entertainment are too childish to let JYJ perform as independent artists. Let’s consider JYJ as real competition and work as hard as we can to make Suju win.

I think SNSD will have the highest chance to outsell SJ’s 5th album because there is no doubt that they’ve attracted new fans during their promotions in Japan and that they have a huge fanbase as well. Despite what other fandoms are saying about ELFs and SJ, I still really want to see SJ win the Daesang. The Daesang is really not life or death. It’s something fans want for their idol groups. But even if they don’t win this time, it’s fine as well. They don’t need an award to prove how amazing they are. We all know who the real winners with or without an award. Like the article, it’s just a cherry on top of everything that they’ve accomplished this year. And at the end of the year, I believe SJ’s 5th album will have the most sales and that makes me happy enough already. Who doesn’t admire people like ELFs who comes from different parts of the world to unite and work together to accomplish a goal?!

I really want to buy 5jib repackage!
Me and my friends ordered 5jib version A long time ago, but we just got it recently, and it needs a lot shipping cost. With that shipping cost, we can buy another 5jib!
So we planning to buy the repackage when we go to korea next month. But then it will not be count in GDA???

the only way I could get their music is via itunes… but does it count??
