SM Entertainment has announced that they will take legal action against Moroccan singers Tiralinefor plagiarizing Super Junior’s hit track, “Bonamana“.

On August 26th, a SM Entertainment representative stated, “Our music staff listened to the song. The Moroccan singers’ song, ‘Matal Maghribi‘, is definitely plagiarized. We will contact the company that has publishing rights to the song and take neccessary measures.

Tiraline’s member, Matal Maghribi, revealed “Myouzik” through his social networking site (SNS) back on February 7th. The song became a hot issue recently due to recirculation amongst outraged Super Junior fans.

  1. Give our boys recognition !!

We, fans of Super Junior, ELF, are kind people. But when it comes to plagiarisism, mean stuffs agaisnt them, we change and protect our boys. Don’t shouldn’t try to taunt us !

    • i agree XD we ELF will do whatever it takes to protect our boys!

  2. lol, why would they even link THAT video?! its not even the song! -_-‘ well, i’m glad sm is doing something about this!

    • aish, my bad. theres a ‘snippet’ of the song at 0:45

  3. the start of the song is the same. and the chorus too…

    i like their version xD

  4. thx for all TUNISIAN ELF that dicovered this plagia and spread the info :)
thx for all ELF that helped US to win this battle agains “tiratine”
our baby’s HARD WORK WILL ALWAYS BE PROTECTED BY ELF :)
    SUJU+ELF=1

    • Why are you guys Bashing Moroccans !? =/ just because of some stupid guys mistacke ..
i’m going restate the point of view that Moroccan ELFs share :
-Moroccan ELFs knew about this a long time ago and tried to report it : so no need to say that Tunisian ELF are the one who discovered the issure thought we’re gratfull for their help !
-We agree that Tiraline had no right to do this and SM SHOULD SUE THEM
-Tiraline doesn’t represent Moroccans so stop bashing us
-For those who are making fun of how our language sounds you are totally ignorant

  5. FAINALY I WAS HOPING SM TO KNOW ABOUT IT AND DO SOMETHING ANYWAY SJ VER WERE ALOOOOOT BETTER

  6. finally, they take action about this matter. i was so angry when i listen to their version of bonamana and keep telling myself ‘this is definitely plagiarism’. i was hoping SM know about this case and take immediate serious action, my hope comes true then :’) thank God. now this morrocan band better be prepared!!!! when it comes to deal with SM in law suit, pheeeew, i cant imgine what will happen >.< this is all because of our hardwork ELFs!! longlive Super Junior! longlive ELFs!!

  7. yeah good job SM! finally you’re doing something to protect our boys huh?!

  8. idk…i mean its similar but i wouldn’t automatically think of bonamana.
but i can definitely hear the same kinda sound :/

anyways guess they will pursue it. unfortunate this happens :/

  9. i’m going state the point of view that the majority of Moroccan ELFs share :

-Moroccan ELFs knew about this a long time ago and tried to report it : so no need to say that Tunisian ELF are the one who discovered the issure thought we’re gratfull for their help !

-We agree that Tiraline had no right to do this and SM SHOULD SUE THEM

-Tiraline doesn’t represent Moroccans so stop bashing us

-For those who are making fun of how our language sounds you are totally ignorant

P.s : i know no one bashed here (cause there is nice persons :p ) but just want to make everything clear that’s all :)

    • ELFs are bashing Morocco? Awww man, that’s really sad. :( Freaking nobody should go as far as bash the whole country or its people. Or even the language, for heaven’s sake, just because of the actions of a very few. Sometimes I really hate the internet because anonymity can make people write the most horrible stuff and get away with it. I actually thought (besides the obvious plagiarism part) that the language and style of the song were very unique and beautiful. :)

      • i hate that too….and the thing is all this people bashing over Morocco have seriously no life !! i mean what has a band who are seriously damn enough to do such a thing with the country it belongs?? but anyway i loved the people (specially world wide elf ) who stood with us :)

  10. I really hope SM takes it easy on them. Tiraline is such a small act (I think?) and to have a giant company go after them like that……I feel sorry for them. Hopefully SM will overlook the monetary compensation part (cuz seriously, does Tiraline have any?) and focus on just censuring them not to do it again. Making it in the industry is hard enough as it is, but to be punished to the point where they wouldn’t want to work again, just because of a mistake….
What I don’t understand, though, is why would Tiraline plagiarize a song that’s so recognizable? They didn’t think they could get away with it? I mean, it didn’t just “sound like,” it was OBVIOUS.

  11. i’m sorry but SM does have a right to sue. this isn’t a question about the morals of the company, but a question of who legally owns the song, and SM legally own all the songs that SmTown artists release. what this group has done is illegally plagarise the song and what i believe your thinking of is songs like f(x)’s Hot Summer or Shinee’s Hello – but these songs have been legally bought off other artists and so SM isn’t doing anything illegal
legality and morality aren’t the same thing in this case, kay? :)
and personally i think the song doesn’t sound a lot like bonamana, especially if you go hear some of the other versions posted on youtube
